  • With the support of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and in collaboration with its scientific coordination unit for Notre-Dame, the Association of Scientists at the Service of the Restoration of Notre-Dame aims to support and advise the authorities in charge of the conservation and restoration project.

  • The Association of Scientists at the Service of Notre-Dame of Paris was founded on April 16, 2019, in the immediate aftermath of the fire that damaged the cathedral of Paris on April 15, 2019. Its purpose is to bring together researchers who study the history, preservation, and construction of historic monuments and put their knowledge and expertise at the service of the restoration of Notre-Dame by contributing to research projects sponsored by the CNRS or other state agencies and sharing their knowledge with the general public and the press. To this end, our website offers short thematic essays (most now available in English) and in-depth articles written by members of the association about the history, conservation, and restoration of Notre-Dame of Paris in the light of the 2019 fire.
